Jaxon’s Airplane Nursery was definitely a labor of love with so many people contributing to the final product. From the moment I found out we were having a little boy I knew I wanted an airplane themed nursery. I also wanted touches of to the moon and back since that is a phrase my momma and I love and share so frequently. Many of you know that G is a pilot and he is one of those rare individuals whose job, passion and hobby are all the same thing. I want to share this love for aviation with Jaxon.
The very first piece I found was Jaxon’s vintage style airplane mobile and it served as the inspiration for the entire room. Next I found the vintage style aviation sheets and it just continued from there. I love the idea of a gray palette so we (G and his sweet family) painted the walls a light neutral gray. Then G’s parents sweetly gifted us our pretty crib and changing table. I slowly but surely found shelving, our rocking chair and a book shelf.
We received the cutest mini chair for baby Jaxon from my sweet friend Courtnee and books galore at my book themed baby showers. I love that so many of Jaxon’s outfits came from friends and family too. Garr’s aunt gave us the prettiest photo frame and his small airplanes and votives came from his baby shower here in San Diego.
Garr had a photo of him in his jet printed for the nursery and I like to think it watches over Jaxon. Garrett’s uncle who is a famous artist painted a beautiful airplane for the nursery. Garrett’s mom also helped me to find the rug and so many other pieces. My sweet momma brought back a stuffed sheep from Ireland and crocheted all of Jaxon’s burp cloths. I love that his nursery is filled with love and memories. It is the perfect space for our little bug to learn and grow!
